
"Internet connections via copper wires and the wireless 3G network are overloaded as a result of the explosive growth in the adoption of laptops and smartphones, as well as, more recently, tablet computers. It is expected that Ofcom will auction off the 4G spectrum in 2012 and bring faster mobile internet to the UK, but in the meantime private companies are trialling the delivery of internet via established technology such as terrestrial TV signals to boost the nation’s broadband infrastructure."
